Geography and Environmental Science
The Geography Department forms part of the Communications Facility.
Students in the Department benefit from a supportive and personalised learning environment where their individual needs are met.
An approachable and friendly atmosphere means that students feel confident to ask for further explanation where they need it.
The Department is very well-resourced with an interactive smartboard and a range of engaging materials and students have the opportunity to develop very strong social learning skills through effective group work.
At Key Stage 3, students will study Geography either as a discrete subject or as part of their combined humanities course for one lesson per week. At Key Stage 4, Geography has been a popular option choice for many years. Topics and Controlled Assessment tasks are designed to be relevant and meaningful to our students. For example, this year’s Controlled Assessment fieldwork investigation will be based around Coastal erosion.
