Curriculum Information

GCSE Hospitality and Catering (following the WJEC double award), offers a unique opportunity for our students to develop their knowledge and extend their skills within hospitality and catering in a vocational context. It provides opportunities to develop a range of Key Skills and extend their capacity for imaginative, innovative thinking and independence.

Coursework is set under controlled assessment conditions and is worth 60% of the students' final grade. In addition they will sit two external exams in the summer term of their final year.

It is a suitable qualification for those who want a broad background in this area and for those who wish to progress to further education. It will offer valuable preparation for those entering the world of work.
